Earth Stone Rituals is the name for Tau’s unique ceremonies and rituals that focus on truly portraying your needs, style, circumstance and wishes. He’ll work with you to ensure each ceremony or ritual reflects your unique situation, style, culture and needs in every way.
Tau has extensive successful experience in designing and facilitating wedding ceremonies and funeral services.

Funeral services
Tau has grown up in a bi-cultural world where death, funerals and tangi are an integral part of everyday life. He has a deep understanding of loss and grief and an ability to engage with families, whanau and friends in a way that helps create safety and comfort as he walks alongside you to design the service that best matches your values, style, needs and culture. Tau is not an ordained religious minister nor is he attached to a church. However he brings a committed and gentle spirituality to everything he does throughout through his celebrancy work.
When facilitating funeral services, he guides those present through the order of service as decided on by the family or whanau, inclusively honouring everyone’s participation and contributions. His goal is to help those who have lost someone close to them, express their thoughts and final messages in their own way, within a caring, respectful and supportive environment. The funeral services Tau facilitates take place at whichever venue or combination of venues the family or whanau choose.
Additional Celebrancy Services
Tau's additional celebrancy services include:
- cloaking ceremonies (a beautiful Maori cultural ritual that further connects the couple and their family or whanau immediately following a wedding)
- naming ceremonies for children and adults
- vow renewal ceremonies
- divorce ceremonies
- other family and whanau events and celebrations
Cloaking ceremonies
Many couples getting married enjoy having the ritual of a cloaking ceremony added onto their wedding or special event. This is a wonderful chance for family and whānau to be directly involved in welcoming new partners into their midst. You may choose to wear cloaks that have special meaning to your or your family, or alternatively two cloaks can be provided by Tau.
